Rebelión.org: el medio sin medios tradicionales

Rebelión.org es el medio que no necesita sala de redacción, oficinas y menos aún auspiciantes para funcionar.

Un grupo de periodistas de varios países han aprendido el arte de manejar un periódico exclusivamente digital sin verse las caras más que una o dos veces al año.

Tiene más de 2 millones de visitas y su modelo de organización es el método perfecto que han encontrado para dar batalla al protagonismo desmedido que tienen los medios tradicionales.

“Y eso que no estamos hablando de si mienten o no”, explica Pascual Serrano, uno de los editores de esta interesante experiencia.

Serrano, procedente de España, visitó el II Diplomado Internacional de Periodismo Digital que un grupo de comunicadores de 7 países realizamos en La Habana y ofreció una charla acerca del poder de la comunicación alternativa en internet.

Los medios, según analiza, están reemplazando lo que dicen sectores sociales y otros sectores que prácticamente no importa lo que digan si no aparecen en los medios es como que no existieran.

Así, por ejemplo, el poder de una denuncia se traduce en cuántos segundos tendrá en un noticiero.

Versiones alejadas

El profesor recordó una interesante anécdota cuando un comunicador cubano le preguntaba…:
¿cómo haremos para que en España los medios no saquen versiones tan alejadas de nuestra realidad en Cuba?
Y la respuesta: vendiendo sus recursos elementales, sus eléctricas a las transnacionales que manejan los medios en España y la información.

De esto, hoy la gente está ya muy consciente, asegura el profesor y por eso los medios tradicionales, “imperios empresariales” están perdiendo cada vez más credibildad así que ya no es argumento decir “a mí me leen mucho”.

Una necesidad imperiosa de tener fuentes alternativas a los grandes medios se nota en internet donde normalmente la mayoría prefiere referir medios alternativos. De ahí -es mi apreciación- por qué blogs tienen mayor ranking y posicionamiento en Google que ya muchos quisieran.

Y es que lo que está vedado en los grandes medios está libre en internet. Así es que en Rebelion la muerte del papa tuvo su cobertura pero para este medio la crisis ocurrida en Ecuador era mucho más importante y por lo tanto la cobertura también sin importar que podría dar más “tráfico” o “raiting”.

Africa, por ejemplo, es un tema que no aparece en casi ningún medio típico y no es noticia así mueran miles de personas diariamente en esta zona.

“Queremos cubrir las causas olvidadas”

Ese es el lema. Para ello han tomado las precauciones de no tener que dar cuentas a nadie más que a su propia conciencia para armar sus agendas periodísticas.

Así es que no tienen oficinas, no tienen redacción física, ni jefes ni auspiciantes ni nada que se parezca a un medio tradicional. ¿De qué viven? De sus salarios de sus ocupaciones personales.

Se reparten secciones y se reúnen solo a través de un chat en el que se deciden los temas en “referendums virtuales”. Aceptan colaboraciones que tengan un rigor mínimo de información y mantienen el lema de que si alguien tiene algo que decir, no esperan a que ellos lo sepan sino que escriban, lo manden y Rebelion lo publica.

Posibles ataques informáticos o presiones políticas no les asusta. Siempre tienen un sitio espejo porque cualquier eventualidad y legalmente Rebelión no les pertenece, ni siquiera está hosteado en España y si alguno cayera en la cárcer igual otro compañero seguirá haciendo su labor de publicar.

Comentarios
- Rebelion.org no tiene un buscador interno y eso podría ahuyentar muchos usuarios y atentar con su objetivo. Recuperar información para contrastar con otras fuentes está un dilema.

- Aunque en internet no tengo las restricciones de espacio, no estoy de acuerdo con títulos tan largos que parecen párrafos. Más bien son oraciones convertidas en link que no terminan siendo nada concreto.

- Algunos compañeros se quejaban de que ciertas notas son muy largas y sí son muy largas. Se compensan con intertítulos pero hay bloques de párrafos juntos que ahuyentan la lectura.

- Mis felicitaciones porque lograr coordinar en forma virtual a periodistas de Europa, Africa y América, con el convencimiento de tener un medio con profesionales que sacrifican sus ingresos por tener independencia informativa parecería hasta hace poco una utopía.

Es increible que el maldito spam se meta hasta en los comentarios de blogs de noticias como este y NO SE HAGA NADA para evitarlo.
Con lo sencillo que es restringir a usuarios reales y evitar que maquinas de spam coloquen todos estos post.
